Lesson Ideas:
21 Ways to Get to 100:
After reading the book, 12 Ways to Get to 11 by Eve Merriam, each student writes and designs a page for a book that depicts a "way to get to 100" modeled after the style of Eve Merriam's book. Students publish their page in StoryJumper, and the teacher compiles all students' pages to create a book by the class.
Then and Now:
Students research lifestyles of the past (transportation, recreation, technology, education) through videos and pictures. Groups work together to write pages of a story entitled, "Then and Now," to compare and contrast lifestyles of the past to the present. Students use StoryJumper to publish their book.
